Except almost none of that is true, and the real story is considerably more interesting.

Li was not a lone maverick. She was not a defector. She never left Alabama. What she was, was one key member of a quietly coordinated network of top tier physicists who spent decades building a complete theoretical and experimental framework for manipulating gravity, funded at various points by NASA, the U.S. Army, and the Department of Defense, right up until 2014.

This piece untangles what actually happened, who was actually involved, and asks the question nobody has properly asked yet. What became of their work?

The U.S Congress forgot about her, or at least Representative Eric Burlison did.

On 20th April 2026, NewsNation research producer, Rob Jones, posted on X in reference to a House Oversight Committee investigation.

This particular House inquiry concerns the spate of deaths and disappearances among scientists linked to U.S classified defence programs. As you will be aware, the cases have garnered substantial media attention recently. Jones namechecked the late Chinese-American physicist who carried out research into anti-gravity on behalf of the U.S army, but then vanished from public life in the early 2000s.

Representative Eric Burlison replied:

“That’s a good point. I forgot about Dr Ning Li.”

Burlison isn’t exactly unacquainted with this particular subject matter.

He’s at the forefront of UAP transparency, lobbying for disclosure from inside of Congress. He has also been privy to classified briefings held in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and has previously engaged whistleblower David Grusch as a special adviser on his team, helping push for the government to be more open on this topic.

Indeed, to further cement this position, prior to responding to Jones on X, he had just co-signed a letter, “seeking information from the Department of Energy, Department of War, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) about the scientists and other personnel connected to U.S. nuclear secrets or rocket technology who have died or mysteriously vanished in recent years.”

Burlison is therefore as dialled into this issue as any sitting US lawmaker.

Amy Eskridge, anti-gravity researcher

Several of the names being examined by Congress include Amy Eskridge, a 34 year old Huntsville based anti-gravity researcher who, with her father, co-founded the Institute for Exotic Science and sadly died in June 2022 in what has been described as controversial circumstances.

Yet, despite extensive knowledge on these matters, Dr Ning Li - also a former Huntsville resident - had not crossed Burlison’s mind.

This is hardly surprising.

The online exchange between Jones and the Congressman was brief, but it was honest and it speaks to just how sprawling this particular story has become in recent months. Frankly, it is simply impossible to provide a definitive account of these reportedly interconnected deaths and disappearances.

Eleven? Twelve? Even seventeen - the number of individuals missing or dead alters depending on which list you consult. But, irrespective of where you look, the numbers are considerable and the circumstances surrounding many of these cases are certainly worthy of rigorous, federal investigation.

For the avoidance of doubt, our focus here though is Dr Ning Li and the stories that have come to orbit around her over the last three decades.

Where myths have taken root, we will address them head on and where wild theories have emerged with no basis in reality, we will say so.

What remains when we do is, in many ways, more remarkable than anything born from pure fiction - Li was not acting alone, there was a significant established network around her…

What’s more, it’s largely been hiding in plain sight all along.

But first…

What Everyone Gets Wrong

Let us set the record straight once and for all.

Upon researching Ning Li, there is much in the public domain that is incorrect. Indeed, the dominant narrative running through Li’s story to this day is - as one rather astute journalist once described it - “spectacularly wrong”.

Depending upon where you aim your browser search it may likely lead you to quickly conclude the following easy summary of Li’s life and career:

Dr Ning Li was a Chinese-born physicist who arrived in the United States in 1983. Over the following decade she conducted controversial anti-gravity research at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, producing a peer reviewed paper in 1997 and securing nearly half a million dollars in U.S. Army funding by 2001. Then she promptly disappeared whilst carrying her American funded research back to China.

Or so the story goes.

This version of Li’s account has been recycled by many credible voices and on so many occasions that it has almost become ‘canon’ in certain online circles.

But, is it all true?

Let’s examine what the evidence reveals.

In many ways it all began in 2008 with physicist Jack Sarfatti, but we must begin by retracing the arc of Li’s own journey…

Who Was Dr Ning Li?

Dr Ning Li was indeed born in China in 1943. Her formative years were turbulent to say the least.

At that time Japan occupied much of the major coastal cities. Shandong Province - where she then lived - was one of the areas significantly impacted by that occupation. Therefore, as a young child Li grew up in the shadow of Nationalist and Communist ideological tensions.

The Nanjing Massacre had occurred only a few years earlier and extreme violence towards civilians was a common occurrence. The end of the civil war, and a communist victory under Mao occurred when she was around six.

Young Ning Li was surrounded by these troubles.

Despite these challenges, she later graduated from the Peking University with a degree in physics and began work at Beijing Polytechnic Institute developing night vision goggles for use in defence applications. Just prior to that - in the 1960s - she had been a Chief Engineer in a semiconductor manufactory.

Then, at around forty years old, Li arrived in the United States. It was 1983. By that point, long before she became entwined in military funded classified exotic propulsion research - as her night vision work demonstrates - she was already versed in classified defence programs.

Once on American shores she secured work at University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Centre for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research, sitting in a geographical location that is renowned for aerospace research and military/defence contracting.

Whilst there, from 1991, she collaborated with another physicist by the name of Douglas Torr on a series of peer reviewed papers proposing a theoretical mechanism for generating measurable gravitomagnetic fields, using high temperature superconducting discs.

Their resulting publications were:

1. ‘Effects of a Gravitomagnetic Field on Pure Superconductors’ (Physical Review D, January 1991),

2. ‘Gravitational Effects on the Magnetic Attenuation of Superconductors’ (Physical Review B, September 1992), and

3. ‘Gravitoelectric-Electric Coupling via Superconductivity’ (Foundations of Physics Letters, August 1993).

Through these papers they laid out their theoretical roadmap for electrically generating and controlling gravity. The underlying physics behind it was based on the following core claim:

“That an anti-gravity effect could be produced by rotating ions creating a gravitomagnetic field perpendicular to their spin axis. In her theory, if a large number of ions could be aligned (in a Bose–Einstein condensate), the resulting effect would be a very strong gravitomagnetic field producing a strong repulsive force.”

These endeavours quickly attracted the attention of recognised institutions.

By 1996 Li had been appointed Principal Investigator of the Delta-G project at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Centre. The program was NASA’s formal attempt at investigating gravity modification and operated from December 1996 through to December 2000.

A scientist by the name of Jonathan Campbell who worked with Li at NASA best captured the essence of what this program sought to achieve. He is on record stating:

“The first thing to understand about Li’s device is that it is neither an antigravity machine nor a gravitational shield. It does not modify gravity, rather it produces a gravity-like field that may be either attractive or repulsive.”

This really is a truly sensational statement when you consider the employer in question. As we can see, the language is not based on theory nor experimental ‘what-ifs’.Campbell is definitive in his claim - he is asserting it ‘produces’ a gravity-like field.

Then, in 1997 Li and her team published another report. This one really made some waves.

‘Static Test for a Gravitational Force Coupled to Type II YBCO Superconductors’ was printed in the pages of respected journal Physica C. It became a foundational peer reviewed paper still cited by academics in the field to this day.

It also noted that prior experiments had reported, “anomalous weight loss for a test mass suspended above a rotating type II, YBCO superconductor, with the percentage change (0.05-2.1%) independent of the test mass’ chemical composition and diamagnetic properties.”

In plain terms it means if an object was placed above a spinning superconducting disc - and in a controlled setting - testing observed that this object then reduced in weight. Thus, it appeared to be some measurable interaction with gravity itself.

Those referenced ‘prior experiments’ were clearly significant and mainly those of Eugene Podkletnov, a pioneering Russian engineer at Tampere University in Finland.

In 1992 - whilst working adjacent to Li and Torr but seemingly wholly unconnected - he had claimed the positive gravitational shielding effects above a rotating superconducting disc.

These were the results Li’s team were seeking to further investigate and build upon. Their own testing measured changes in acceleration of less than 2 parts in 100 million of normal gravitational acceleration. Their 1997 paper described this as placing, “new limits on the strength and range of the proposed coupling between static superconductors and gravity.”

According to a YouTube video by Barely Sociable - an independent account that has become one of the most widely referenced tellings of Li’s story - the full version of their 1997 academic report committed to reporting further results from a rotating version of the experiment.

That research never materialised publicly.

The Final NASA Report

One aspect of Li’s story that has never been widely reported centres upon her work with NASA and the reasons it suddenly stopped.

A concluding summary report, from 2000 titled ‘Cooperative Agreement NCC8-124 Between NASA/MSFC and UAH Final Report’ (confirmation that NASA had partnered with Li’s own university to conduct research) makes clear what unfolded during the period of the program’s existence (1996-2000).

And she was its author.

The NASA document states that Li and her team successfully developed what is described as, “the first United States 12-inch superconductivity disk of 1-2-3 superconducting material.”

So, according to Li, ‘Gravity’ discs existed and despite problems encountered in their fabrication which took “twenty attempts” to put right, in the opinion of Li they became a significant technical achievement successfully accomplishing the task set by those commissioning the project.

However, NASA’s obligation was to provide the ‘rotating’ architecture to conclude the experiments. This would allow the team to successfully test the discs. The rotating apparatus necessary for the next stage of testing would likely have allowed for that further research promised in the 1997 Physica C paper too. And, this is where matters appear to have gone somewhat off-piste.

NASA, for reasons rumoured to be a failure of “leadership, organizational and funding issues” discontinued its own co-supported initiative with Li and UAH. In short, it was unable to fully build the supporting infrastructure to conclude these experiments. This position is all the stranger when considered alongside NASA’s Dr Jonathan Campbell’s comments that Li’s work produced, “a gravity-like field.”

However, Li diplomatically acknowledges the disappointment in the ‘Final Report, “It is unfortunate that these fine superconducting specimens were never used in the desired experiments.”

Presumably filled with frustration from NASA’s failures and perhaps by institutional dynamics at UAH, Li left the university in 1999 to commercialise her own theoretical work. She would become the architect of her own fortunes.

Focus has been drawn to Apollo era flight logs and details, much of which has been declassified for the better part of 50 years. While I am not saying these parts of the release aren’t interesting, as well as the value of the ‘government’ treating this topic with seriousness and pushing it further into the general public’s consciousness - I think few people would have changed positions from where they originally stood prior to 8am this morning. If you are already aware of the subject, then today’s release was nothing new - and if you were staunchly skeptical of what is already out there, then this is unlikely to have changed your mind.

We will see how quickly the news cycle moves on, and perhaps what awaits in the next batch of files to be released.

However, spending time on whether the documents were sufficiently dramatic misses - in my opinion - what the truly significant story was that emerged in the lead up to this release. A ‘phones off meeting’ in an Airbnb in the mountains of Tennessee, several weeks before anyone knew that May 8th 2026 would see these files come to light.

Knowledge of the meeting itself emerged through a chain of independent confirmations that unfolded across several weeks, each adding detail without coordination between the sources.

It began with Tony Merkel, an evangelist and podcaster who said he had first come into contact with the intelligence officials more than a year before the meeting took place. He described them as “Christians in intelligence operations” who were specifically focused on gathering evidence about what was happening behind the scenes in the disclosure community. His account suggests the outreach to faith leaders was not a last-minute decision but part of a longer, deliberate process.

Perry Stone, a well-known Tennessee evangelist and Bible teacher with a large following, described the meeting in an April 27th YouTube video. He said a group of pastors had been invited to hear from men in the US government who had a specific concern they wanted to share. According to Stone, the officials told those present that the government was preparing to release reports and possibly videos of craft and beings not from this planet. They described the existence of reptilian creatures, materials of non-human origin, and other things Stone said “almost sound like something out of a sci-fi movie.” The officials warned that some Christians would respond by questioning the creation account entirely, and that people outside the faith would panic and turn to pastors and ministers for answers. Stone said: “You’re going to have people who are going to say if there are galaxies and there are allegedly other creations in the galaxies, then the whole creation story is a myth, and you’re going to have people that’s going to apostatize and turn from the Christian faith because they have no answer for what they’re about to hear.”

Bishop Alan DiDio of Revival Nation Church confirmed his attendance publicly on X, writing: “I was brought into a private meeting with other pastors. Phones off. No recordings. We were warned: Disclosure is coming and many will be unprepared for what follows.” DiDio had already gone further in a March 7th YouTube livestream, before the story became widely known, describing the meeting as covering an investigation into “crimes committed in the process of retrieving and reverse engineering technology from non-human intelligence.” He also said the meeting addressed what he called “the propaganda plan that was in place leading up to disclosure.” That detail, offered months before the public story broke, is difficult to explain as retrospective embellishment.

The meeting then became more publicly complicated when a separate pastor, Larry Ragland, claimed on social media that Rep. Eric Burlison of Missouri had called into the meeting on speakerphone and told the assembled pastors that the beings are from another dimension, that they are humanity’s creators, and that Jesus and the Bible were invented by them. Burlison pushed back quickly and firmly, saying he had called in briefly to encourage the pastors and had said nothing of the kind. Ragland issued a full apology, acknowledging he had conflated his own longstanding beliefs about how disclosure would eventually be framed with what Burlison actually said. That clarification matters and is worth stating plainly. But the correction applied only to what Burlison allegedly said, not to whether the meeting occurred. The meeting’s existence was already confirmed by multiple independent attendees before Ragland’s version entered circulation, and it remained confirmed after his apology.

Newsweek reached out to the White House to confirm whether the meeting took place. No response was recorded, which would likely lean on the fact that this did happen and they’d prefer not to confirm or deny.

Folks, this is the big deal.

This may be the crucial ‘testing of the waters’ of whether disclosure will be undertaken by a US administration or not.

Recall that around twenty years ago, something quite similar seems to have taken place - but the waters weren’t ready yet.

Physicist Hal Puthoff, who has consulted for classified government UAP programmes for decades and served as a technical consultant to the Defence Intelligence Agency among others, has stated on the record that the National Security Council under President George W. Bush commissioned a formal study into whether the time had come for public disclosure. The study involved Puthoff as an advisor, along with National Security Adviser Steven Hadley and Vice President Dick Cheney. The conclusion reached was that full disclosure was not in the public interest, that the negative consequences would outweigh the benefits, and that the information was, in the language used at the time, too ontologically shocking to release. The study was reportedly ended at the direction of a two-star general.

As we discussed on the show with Lue Elizondo:

That was twenty years ago. The conclusion reached then was that humanity was not ready. The question worth asking now is not whether the files released today were sufficiently dramatic, but whether the goalposts have moved, and if so, what has changed.

The pastor briefings suggest that someone inside the current system believes the answer to that question is yes, but that the transition still needs to be managed carefully, and that religious communities in particular need time to find their footing before the full weight of whatever is coming lands in public. That is a considered, institutional concern, not a fringe one. It mirrors almost exactly the logic behind the Bush-era decision, except that this time the conclusion is apparently different.

Whether the beings described to those pastors are what various traditions would call demonic, interdimensional, extraterrestrial, or something that none of those categories adequately covers is a question that is not going to be settled by a document release. But the fact that people inside the apparatus are actively thinking about how Christian communities will process this information, and taking practical steps to prepare religious leadership in advance, is a story that deserves far more attention than the 162 files released on https://war.gov/ufo

“I mean, I’m not putting you on. I wish somebod

y would go to the hospital and see that lady. I have to have help from somewhere. If I don’t, she’s going to die.”

She wasn’t calling about a UFO. She was calling because her friend was in hospital and getting worse and nobody could figure out why, and she had run out of other people to call. The Dayton police chief had given her the number. It had taken him two days to find it.

Betty Cash had been admitted to Parkway Hospital in Houston on January 2nd, discharged after twelve days, and readmitted shortly after because the symptoms hadn’t cleared. The doctors were treating what they could see without understanding what had caused it. It was only when Betty’s cardiologist said that if they knew the cause she might actually be helped that seven-year-old Colby Landrum told the doctors what had happened on the road five weeks earlier. Until then the three of them had kept it to themselves, afraid nobody would believe them.

By the time Vickie made that call Betty had lost most of her hair. Her eyelids had blistered and burst. Her face had peeled. She had lumps across her neck and head. In a handwritten account composed on Parkway Hospital stationery on February 7th, 1981, while she was still a patient, Betty described what the first hours had been like after she got home from the road. Desperately sick within thirty minutes. Trying to get better at home. Finally admitted on January 2nd. Home for nine days. Back in hospital because the headaches and lumps returned.

“I know I was not sick until this happened,” she wrote, “and I know that is what is wrong with me.”

Vickie’s eyes had swelled so badly that each morning her pillow was soaked through. She lost vision on one side and never recovered it. Colby had blisters on his face, vomited, lost control of his bowels and kidneys. The doctors told Vickie it had to be some kind of radiation exposure, but they needed to know what kind, because by the time Colby was fifteen or eighteen he might develop something that resembled leukemia, and treating him for leukemia without knowing about the radiation could kill him.

What the three of them had seen on the road six weeks earlier, on the night of December 29, 1980, had lasted around twenty minutes.

They had been driving home from a bingo game in New Caney through the piney woods southeast of Houston. Betty owned a diner in Dayton. Vickie was her waitress. FM 1485 was empty. Colby saw it first.

“See it Grandma, see it Grandma. See it aunt Betty. What is it?”

It was off to the left, visible through breaks in the trees. Then the road curved and Betty stopped the car.

“It come down,” Vickie said later, “and it was just, you know, hanging up there.”

The object was diamond-shaped, roughly the size of a water tower, its base pointed toward the ground. Periodically it fired jets of intense light downward. Every time the flame came down the object rose a little. When it let off, it drifted back toward the road. The sound was like welding, very loud, with a sharp repeating beep underneath it. The heat reached them inside the car.

Betty got out. Vickie and Colby got out briefly too, then Colby panicked and Vickie pushed him back inside and got in herself, sitting there begging Betty to come back in. Betty stood in the full heat and light of it for several minutes. When she finally got back in the car she had to wrap her coat around her hand to grip the door handle because the metal was too hot to touch. The dashboard vinyl had softened under Vickie’s hands and held the impression of her fingers.

Vickie, a born-again Christian, told Colby that if he saw a big man coming it would be Jesus, coming to take them somewhere better. She told him they’d stop in Dayton on the way and pick up his grandfather. It was the only thing she could think of.

“I was afraid he was going to have a heart attack. I’ve always felt like anybody could be scared enough that they would die.”

The object eventually lifted above the treeline and drifted right. Helicopters began arriving from multiple directions. Vickie counted them with Colby to keep him occupied. She counted 22. Colby said there was another one. As they drove home the glow of the object was still visible in the distance, more helicopters still moving toward it. Vickie later estimated the total could have been closer to forty. When investigators showed the witnesses photographs they identified the helicopters as CH-47 Chinooks, the large twin-rotor military transport used primarily by the US Army. Betty said some had United States Air Force markings on the body.

Vickie’s call to the NUFORC eventually reached MUFON and John Schuessler, an aerospace engineer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. He drove to Texas, interviewed the witnesses, went back to the road, and stayed on the case for decades. Schuessler returned to the site with Betty and Vickie and found a large circular mark on the asphalt where the object had been. A witness named Amy Moseley later reported that unmarked trucks arrived, dug up that section of road, and repaved it. He found other witnesses. At least ten people in the area had seen the object that night. At least eight had seen the helicopters. A police sergeant named Lamar Walker and his wife had watched the helicopters pass overhead from their car and assumed a plane had come down in the woods somewhere.

In September 1981 investigators from the Texas Department of Health drove the full stretch of FM 1485 with radiation detection equipment and took soil samples at intervals along the route. They found no significant deviation from background radiation anywhere. Their report noted that this did not rule out exposure, only that no residual contamination remained, and that whether the witnesses had been exposed to radiation from a sealed source could only be determined from clinical findings.

Senator Lloyd Bentsen wrote back to Betty that summer and told her to go to Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin and file a formal claim. In August 1981, Betty, Vickie, and Colby made the trip. When they were brought into the room there was a map on the wall with the location of the FM 1485 sighting already marked on it.

While illuminating in a few ways for those of us inside the UFO community (Dillon states that aside from Joe Rogan he doesn’t really know anyone who actually cares about UFOs… he might be right maybe its hard to see outside the bubble?) most of us are probably sheepishly hiding a concession that disclosure ‘now’ smacks of an easy distraction for at least some of the American public.

Now — Trump is talking about declassifying all the UFO files, and by the way, the JFK files, the Jeffrey Epstein files, the rest of them. Today there’s gonna be no prosecution. Nobody’s going to know what to investigate. All of that is going away. Gas prices are dramatically rising. The cost of food is rising. Everything is going up.

And the last thing they have — the distraction they have — is to basically say: “There are alien bases under the water.” And if they showed you that — you’d accept it. I guess that’s what they tell us. All they have to do is say, “Aliens, baby.” It gets people to stop bothering them about the war, stop bothering them about the economy, stop bothering them about inflation.

The obvious concern is that even in a best case scenario, whatever might be released would be tainted by the political moment in which it was released.

The worst case scenario is that what comes out of “Aliens.gov” is not only underwhelming, or nothing new, redacted or some other brand of weak sauce on a nothing burger - but that it does further damage to the actual study and investigation of whatever the phenomenon might be. A reverse of the Robertson Panel, where the CIA recommended debunking UFO reports in the early 50s, might be put into play where suddenly the space is washed out with ai-slop, false-reporting and mirages of the actual truth. When accepting everything does the job of denying everything.

What is also very interesting (concerning?) is something Dillon puts his finger on (hilariously) from an outsider’s perspective:

This is where the country is at. Everyone I know has had a pretty muted response. You know, nobody wants to be out of their mind here anymore. Nobody wants that.
The government has spent the last week telling you there are alien bases underground — and maybe in the center of the Earth — and those aliens are fighting each other, and may start to fight us. And you know the response from the public has been pretty muted. Nobody really cares. Nobody cared that much about the government bluntly coming out and going, "Hey, we're being observed by higher-dimensional beings."

A lot of you don't care. People do not care.

That Anna Paulina— whatever her name is, God bless her — she's out there talking about interdimensional-dimensional beings. She's out there saying they’re under water... and, by the way, nobody cares. Nobody is worked up about it. That's what we are now in this country — not really worked up about that fact.

What does explain this seemingly nationwide apathy toward what are, objectively, some of the most incredible things politicians have ever said… ever?

It makes one wonder just how much of this apathy is by design, even those within the UFO community or those interested in these questions have begun to feel a malaise. Some point to the blue balls moment that News Nation provided the world with Jake Barber’s “egg” - a video so over-hyped that it left many looking for a break from the topic, or at least from allowing for genuine hope that disclosure would happen anytime soon.

You saw many older heads chuckling at their enraged comments in a recreation of the “first time?” meme… those that have been told many times over the decades that something was right around the corner!

So even those who are supposed to be most ‘hyped’ about Trump’s disclosure are likely the ones to be just as cynical as those who don’t believe in the existence of these craft beyond their explanations of balloons, funny looking clouds or hoaxes.

But what Dillon does so well, in typical fashion and perhaps with some uncomfortability to those who are true believers, is the uncomfortable speculation that this is supposed to be pyschosis inducing.

They chose not to disclose this a long time ago. They could have dribbled it out over years — but now they're blowing it all out in a week. Because they want you to have a nervous breakdown. Their goal is for you to have a nervous breakdown and be taken out of Trader Joe's on a stretcher. That's what they're trying to do — induce a mass panic.

Why now? Why else? Why has it suddenly become so important to start releasing all this stuff? Why would they have picked this exact moment to do it?

They are trying to induce some type of psychosis in people. UFOs have been on the show — this has been a thing in the minds of people for a long time. And now it's being filed, floated, and this new push with UFOs... this is clearly just trying to distract a few people.

This would be a version of current events that many who know UFOs are real, but are extremely skeptical of government attempts to handle this narrative whatsoever, have been sharing in comment sections and forums for months. Psyops within psyops within psyops, where now leading congress members are being made tools of this narrative.

While it would still remain one of the most interesting stories ever just to know what those discussions and plans entail - the notion that perhaps the whole thing is a decades long web of lies (although not like was reported as incidents of ‘hazing’ a year or so ago) but a more considered attempt at public management (or some parts of…) weirdly leaves open a far more unsettling question than simply “are UFOs real?”

Because many of us are past that.

The more interesting question becomes: does it even matter anymore?

If the phenomenon is real, and the craft are real, and the non-human intelligence is real, what does it mean that the political apparatus around its disclosure has become so polluted that even the most committed researchers are struggling to separate signal from noise? What does it mean that a comedian doing a five-minute riff on his podcast can more clearly articulate the public’s relationship to this information than most of the coverage it’s receiving?

Dillon isn’t inside the community. He doesn’t know the names, the cases, the decades of FOIA requests and congressional testimonies. And maybe that’s exactly why he can see it so clearly. From the outside, what’s visible isn’t a historic reckoning with hidden truth. It’s a government pulling levers, and a public too exhausted and too burned to pull back.

The tragedy for those of us who have followed this seriously is that if something real is ever fully confirmed, it will arrive in a landscape we helped poison through hype cycles, over-promised moments, and a disclosure movement that got too close to the very political machinery it was supposed to be holding accountable.

Dillon’s punchline about the nervous breakdown at Trader Joe’s is funny because it’s absurd. But it’s also a reminder that the government’s greatest asset has never been secrecy. It’s been the slow erosion of anyone’s ability to take anything seriously at all.

Bringing together a vast body of evidence we hypothesised that the most significant classified physics program in human history could well be concealed not within a secret government facility or military installation - but inside a private investment firm in Long Island, New York.

What the evidence revealed was not easy to ignore.

Distilled to its simplest components, the evidence signposted us, predominantly, towards Renaissance Technology (RenTec), a private investment firm;

• Founded not by a Wall Street financier but instead by a former NSA codebreaker with a foundational contribution to gravitational theory.

• One that does not only employ quantitative analysts and traders but also the planet’s best theoretical physicists.

• Situated not in the finance district of a major metropolis but beside a classified national laboratory and an elite university physics department it helped build.

• Bound not by the typical employment contract one expects inside the industry but by lifetime NDAs.

• Not producing the prolific academic research output its PhD workforce demands but an almost complete silence for over forty years.

• And not providing competitive financial returns that the industry might expect but ones that have been described as, “the commercial version of the Manhattan Project.”

Equally as intriguing are their neighbours. We offered analysis here too.

Upon reviewing the information laid before us, a clear structural pipeline came into sharp focus. Stony Brook University, an institution ideally placed at the beginning of that pipeline, to first nurture the talent through its world class mathematics and theoretical physics department. Brookhaven National Laboratory, with its focus on researching “dark matter, dark energy” and “providing theoretical foundation for the search for physics beyond the standard model,” to then identify the crème de la crème. With RenTec - once described by Abel Prize winner Isadore Singer as, “the world’s greatest mathematics and physics department” - positioned to catch whoever emerges from the other end, binding those individuals, henceforth, by lifetime NDAs no less.

So, yes, it was the total sum of all those parts - with all of their many anomalies, of which the number is too great to recount them all again here - that gave us reason to consider what was being revealed was worthy of attention.

But, the crux of it was this - In RenTec, Stony Brook University, and Brookhaven National Laboratory, we saw a triumvirate of institutions appear to be more than they seem; a framework ripe not only for financial investment, higher education and nuclear solutions but for classified advanced propulsion research.

There were, however, further questions that were not asked at the time - questions with the potential to strengthen this theosis to the point where the official narrative becomes, frankly, even harder to accept than the claim itself.

We did not ask them before, perhaps in retrospect it was because they felt too obvious.

But we’ll ask them now;

If indeed exotic propulsion research is being developed out of Long Island, what if, outside of any nearby lab, the evidence of something anomalous appearing in the skies above us had already been seen?

What if hundreds of eye witnesses, including local law enforcement officials had noted their sightings, leaving them baffled at what they had observed?

What if military generals went on record responding to any such sightings, and when asked whether they were able to track the objects or identify where they originated, the response became a chilling, “No, it’s the capability gap.”

What if two U.S Presidents publicly acknowledged them.

What if the current incumbent in the White House - whilst still President elect - spoke about it so freely to the media, that on one occasion he stated, “The government knows what is happening. For some reason, they don’t want to comment. I think they’d be better off saying what it is our military knows and our president knows.”

What if a local resident when interviewed by the BBC alleged, “spotting a mystery object in the sky.” adding, “it was the size of a school bus, rectangular with blinking lights, and “definitely something I’ve never seen”.

Would this all not render the case now utterly impossible to ignore?

Well, we know the answers to those questions already, don’t we? Why? Because from mid December 2024 until late January 2025, these are the documented, verified and reported facts.

When Everyone Looked Up

As you likely may already be aware - on or around 12th December 2024 something anomalous began operating high above the residents of Suffolk county, Long Island, New Jersey, in New York State, U.S.A.

Pilot, lawyer and drone operator David Wind encapsulated this mystery perfectly as reported within The Suffolk Times, “These were not ordinary aircraft” intriguingly adding there was, “no discernable noise whatsoever.”

Such was the alarm amongst local residents that on 3rd January 2025, during a press conference to address the emerging situation, local County Executive, Ed Romaine even described, “The ones we’re talking about could be 20 times larger than this - sometimes as large as a car.”

The first and most obvious question is what were they? The answer has thus far remained elusive.

A hobbyist might expect to see their commercial drones, much smaller in size, take flight for an hour or so. That much we knew already, with some more expensive models even running a little over.

Instead, credible witnesses reported sightings significantly larger in size and occurring over, “highly sensitive areas, including over runways…on taxiways, and restricted airspace.” operating for between, “six to seven hours per night.”

Remarkably, there were seventeen individual sightings on Christmas Day 2024 alone, all over the skies of Francis S. Gabreski Airport, a civil military facility also in Suffolk County, Long Island, headquarters of the 106th Rescue Wing of the New York Air National Guard. By this time a no fly zone, with a radius of five miles of Gabreski, had already been issued by the FAA.

We Return To The Same Triangle of Institutions

Even more astonishingly, as all of this was unfolding inside Suffolk County, when we examine a map we see this is the exact county whose geography places Stony Brook University, Brookhaven National Laboratory and RenTec’s “fortress-like” headquarters not only a short distance from the sightings, but in some cases directly beneath the flight path of these unidentified craft.​​​​​​

Directly. Beneath.

And again, it was those three institutions that formed the centerpiece of our earlier article, one that not only concluded it appeared entirely plausible that a classified program could exist, but that RenTec specifically may house/share a research program for advanced exotic propulsion and possibly even the reverse-engineering of non-human craft.

Astonishingly, as we can now see, it transpires back in late 2024, right above those very same institutions, anomalous craft were actually in the skies, roaming with impunity, right across that county’s most sensitive facilities.

Although they failed to observe the patterns that we will now uncover, the national media reported upon the emerging story with gusto.

We, no doubt like you, watched on, struck by how remarkable events were becoming on a seemingly nightly basis.

Yet, given the summary account described above and the more detailed one within our earlier related inquiry, perhaps equally as remarkable is that nobody has ever stopped to specifically ask the following question…

Could there actually be a connection between the ‘drones’ of Long Island and the RenTec/Stony Brook/Brookhaven axis?

The man they called was John George Trump. The late paternal uncle of the current president of the United States.

What follows is a story about missing files and death rays, about the men who built the architecture of American secrecy, about a secret group that met in Nassau to discuss things that have no business being discussed, about an exotic physics that mainstream science has never quite managed to bury, and about one very quiet MIT professor who… maybe has something to do with the reason why President Trump might be the Disclosure President.

Who is John G Trump?

John George Trump was born in New York in 1907, the younger brother of Fred Trump, who would go on to build the real estate empire his son Donald would later inherit and expand, but in reality, the family connection we now focus on is one of the least interesting things about him.

Trump completed his doctorate at MIT in 1933 under Robert Van de Graaff, and spent the next five decades pursuing the implications of high-voltage electrostatic physics in directions that kept pulling him further from the ordinary world of academic science. He joined the MIT faculty two years later and almost immediately began applying Van de Graaff generator technology to cancer treatment, designing compact X-ray machines that could deliver targeted radiation doses with a precision existing hospital equipment couldn’t approach. The High Voltage Research Laboratory he directed eventually oversaw the treatment of around ten thousand patients. When the war came he was brought into the Radiation Laboratory at MIT and eventually sent to run its British branch at Great Malvern, coordinating Allied radar research in direct support of the invasion of Europe, working alongside the people who were actually building the technological infrastructure of the war. Above all of them, coordinating the entire apparatus of American military science, sat Vannevar Bush.

As many of you will no doubt be aware, Bush ran the National Defense Research Committee, oversaw the early coordination of the Manhattan Project, and wrote the document that designed the architecture of postwar American research funding. His name also appears in the MJ-12 documents, the leaked papers alleging the existence of a classified committee assembled after the war to manage the recovery and study of non-human craft, as one of its founding members. Whether those documents are genuine, fabricated, or something more complicated than either, Bush occupied exactly the institutional position such a program would have required, with the classification infrastructure already in place and the kind of authority that could absorb almost anything without leaving a visible trace. John Trump worked for this man, closely, during the years when all of that infrastructure was being constructed.

The FBI’s own assessment described Trump as the foremost radar expert in the country. That is the man the government called when Tesla died and someone needed to go through his papers.

Isadore Singer may have come from humble beginnings, but as an Abel Prize winner, when he spoke even the world’s brightest minds listened.

Also recipient of the National Medal of Science and winner of the Wolf Prize in Mathematics, he is best remembered for the Atiyah-Singer Index Theorem - a unifying theorem that brought together three areas of mathematics once considered disparate, with profound influence on physics and quantum field theory.

Singer was, by any scholarly measure, one of the greatest mathematicians of the last century. Yet perhaps his most lasting contribution was not his own work, but the influence and mentorship he had on Jim Simons.

Simons was someone equally as gifted. By 23 years of age he had earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from MIT and a PhD in Mathematics from UC Berkeley. Impressive credentials indeed. This was also a man who, at the height of the Cold War, was helping the U.S National Security Agency (N.S.A) crack advanced mathematical codes and ciphers used by the Soviet Union.

In 1982, benefiting from his immense talent, elite academic background and unique experience in classified government research, he founded a company you may not yet be familiar with - Renaissance Technologies (RenTec).

Officially, RenTec is, “an investment management firm that employs mathematical and statistical methods in the design and execution of its investment programs.”

Strange, then, that someone of Singer’s calibre would share with Eric Weinstein - a Harvard trained mathematical physicist and, it must be said an intellectual force in his own right - that RenTec’s Long Island base houses, “the world’s greatest mathematics and physics department.”

Singer saw Simons’ organisation seemingly not as a hedge fund or trading operation, he viewed it instead as a centre of research.

But research into what?

Singer’s observation invites us to ponder an obvious question. Why would a private investment firm even need to research physics at all?

If they were to answer, RenTec’s response would presumably be straightforward - they simply hire the best talent in pursuit of their business goals. On its face this seems plausible enough.

Yet, when placed alongside the findings below, such a simplistic reply belies the magnitude of what the evidence actually points us to.

PhDs + Hedge Fund = Perfect Cover Story?

Indeed, the first crack in RenTec’s official public profile begins to reveal itself when we examine who they employ and what qualifications they bring with them once they enter the building. Their somewhat strategic ‘hazy’ description of its PhD workforce is certainly worthy of scrutiny.

Our interest was not drawn to what this information reveals but frankly what it helps obscure. Superficially at least, their organisational footprint is transparent. RenTec currently has three hundred employees with 90 PhDs.

Yet, the latter have been lumped ​​into a single vague grouping of, “mathematics, physics, computer science, and related fields.” Clearly this, in itself, does not raise any flags. But, for a firm built upon precision, the broadness of this statement is noticeable. It helps avoid scrutiny as to the amount of organisational knowledge sitting within that earlier referenced domain of ‘advanced theoretical physics’.

Perhaps instead, Singer was simply recognising the fact that Simons’ organisation and his workforce have been at the forefront of quantitative analysis for decades - game recognising game.

When taken at face value, that’s also certainly one possibility.

Yet, their vagueness surrounding physics and PhDs merely scratch the surface of this inquiry.

There is another far more significant and compelling possibility, one that once probed, clearly reveals further remarkable anomalies causing us to question RenTec’s entire raison d’être.

What if RenTec is not what it purports to be at all?

What if the organisational apparatus of a successful private investment firm is instead the perfect cover for what Singer astutely claimed it was all along? A world class research institution…

And, despite how far-fetched the notion might initially seem, what if that world class research institution was conducting classified advanced propulsion research, of the sort that would require permanent government secrecy?

The 1995 report produced by the American Institutes for Research, a private nonprofit organisation brought in to evaluate the CIA’s long running remote viewing program, sits squarely in that category.

The program itself had been running since the early 1970s. Over the course of nearly two decades, the intelligence community invested time and resources into a simple question: whether human beings could describe locations they had never visited and had no prior knowledge of. The term they settled on, remote viewing, carries a clinical tone that distances the inquiry from what it actually involved. At its core, the question was direct. Is ESP real, and does it have practical use?

To address it, AIR assembled what they described as a “blue ribbon” panel. Two senior AIR scientists with no background in parapsychology. A Stanford statistics professor tasked with additional oversight. And two external experts selected to reflect opposing interpretations of the evidence.

One of those experts was Raymond Hyman, a psychologist from the University of Oregon with a longstanding sceptical position on paranormal claims. The other was Jessica Utts, a Professor of Statistics at UC Davis whose published work engaged more favourably with the data.

What Utts concluded, working as a statistician reviewing decades of controlled laboratory experiments, sits uneasily alongside the report’s final recommendation.

How We Got Here

To understand why the 1995 report carries weight, it helps to see how long the program had been running and how many times it had already been examined.

The CIA’s involvement in remote viewing began in 1972. It continued quietly until 1977, at which point the agency stepped back. The work did not end there. The Defense Intelligence Agency resumed it in the mid 1980s under a program that would eventually be consolidated under the name Star Gate. By the time AIR was asked to review the material, the government had spent close to twenty years funding, classifying, and revisiting the same line of inquiry into psychic functioning.

An earlier assessment had already been conducted. The 1988 report by the National Research Council, commissioned by the Army Research Institute, evaluated the available evidence and found little support for remote viewing as a tool for improving performance. That conclusion did not bring the work to a close. Dozens of additional studies followed. Estimates place the number somewhere between fifty and a hundred after 1986 alone. The research continued under classification, and the underlying question remained open inside the institutions funding it.

By 1995, the CIA was considering taking formal responsibility for the program and wanted an external evaluation before doing so. AIR was selected, with an emphasis on its lack of prior involvement in parapsychology. The task was clearly defined. Assess whether the phenomenon demonstrated scientific validity, and consider whether it could be used in an intelligence context. Each question was to be addressed on its own terms.

The second question moved toward a resolution without much difficulty. The first did not settle in the same way, and the conclusions began to diverge depending on who was interpreting the data.

At 68 years old, McCasland had spent over three decades inside American aerospace and intelligence, rising into the upper tiers of authority. That morning, his mobile phone was left behind. His prescription glasses too. A repairman visited the house at around 10am and spoke with him. His wife left for a medical appointment at approximately 11:10am. When she returned at 12:04pm, McCasland was gone.

Three weeks later, there have been no confirmed sightings.

On 17 March 2026, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference. What follows is a summary of both the official search and the circumstances that have made this case something more than a standard disappearance.

Shortly after McCasland vanished, a grey U.S. Air Force sweatshirt was discovered just over a mile from his home, though it has not been definitively linked to him. Items initially believed missing were later recovered from a separate residence in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. His wallet, a .38-calibre revolver, and a red backpack remain unaccounted for.

A Silver Alert was issued the following day. Search efforts have been extensive. More than 700 homes were canvassed. Security footage was requested and reviewed. Helicopters scanned the terrain using infrared imaging. Drones, dogs, and coordinated search teams combed the surrounding area.

Nothing of significance has been found.

Multiple agencies are involved, including the FBI’s Albuquerque field office, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and local and state search and rescue units. This is, first and foremost, a missing persons case. A husband has vanished. A family is waiting.

But there is another layer to this story that refuses to sit quietly beneath the surface.

The 1971 Turner Report, writen by Australian defence intelligence scientist Harry Turner, was a memorandum circulated within Australia’s Joint Intelligence Organisation and which set out, with surprising directness, the case that unidentified flying objects represented a genuine phenomenon. Not only that, but it meticulously described aspects of the United States’ program, covering anti-gravity research, the involvement of the ‘who’s who’ of American theoretical physics, and provided huge insights into the US government’s involvement with the UFO phenomenon up until the late 60s.

But, despite the document’s importance, it seems likely to me that many of those interested in this topic may not have actually taken the time to sit down and read it – or to understand the context of the report.

As such, this article will set out to answer who Harry Turner was, why this report was written, and go through, page by page, what the document explains and why that is relevant.

Oliver Harry Turner

Trained as a physicist, Oliver Harry Turner entered government science at a time when Australia had become one of the principal testing grounds for Britain’s nuclear weapons program. Beginning in the early 1950s a series of atomic detonations were carried out at remote locations across the Australian continent, first at the Montebello Islands off Western Australia and later at the desert sites of Emu Field and Maralinga in South Australia. These were not small experiments but full-scale nuclear weapons trials conducted in conditions of extreme secrecy.

For scientists working in these programs the Australian interior became a laboratory on a continental scale. Towers of instruments surrounded detonation points, radar tracked missile launches and test vehicles, aircraft sampled radioactive clouds, and teams of physicists and health-physics specialists monitored radiation levels in the days and weeks following each explosion. Turner spent much of the 1950s working in this environment, serving on the health-physics teams responsible for measuring radioactive contamination and analysing the effects of the tests on the surrounding landscape.

His work placed him inside some of the most sensitive scientific operations of the early Cold War. Health-physics officers tracked fallout patterns, recovered contaminated debris, and advised military authorities on radiation hazards. Later testimony during inquiries into the Maralinga program shows how directly these teams were involved in the practical realities of the tests, including the recovery of highly radioactive materials from blast sites and the analysis of fragments produced during experimental detonations. Turner’s reports from the period document the recovery of radioactive particles and their shipment back to Britain for further analysis, illustrating how closely Australian personnel were integrated into the wider British nuclear research effort.

It was within this environment of missile testing, radar surveillance, and constant monitoring of the skies that Turner first encountered reports of UAP. Personnel stationed at sites such as Woomera and Maralinga occasionally reported objects moving through restricted airspace in ways that did not correspond to known aircraft or balloons. These reports circulated through the same technical and security channels that handled missile telemetry and classified test data. Because the possibility of foreign surveillance could never be ruled out, such sightings were recorded and sometimes investigated.

Further evidence of the “UFOs and Nukes” sightings detailed in Robert Hasting’s brilliant book, and a reminder that this is not confined to the United States.

Turner developed a reputation for taking an interest in these cases. By the mid-1950s he had been asked by Australia’s Directorate of Air Force Intelligence to conduct what was described as a “scientific appreciation” of their UFO files. Reviewing the available reports, he concluded that while many sightings could be explained by astronomical objects or aircraft, a persistent remainder appeared to involve objects displaying flight characteristics beyond known technology. He recommended closer technical scrutiny, including the establishment of a scientific panel capable of analysing radar data, witness reports, and physical traces associated with alleged landings.

The proposal went nowhere. The Royal Australian Air Force increasingly adopted the public position taken by the United States Air Force, which by the late 1950s had begun portraying UFO reports as misidentifications or atmospheric phenomena. Turner nevertheless continued examining the issue privately and through internal channels. By the late 1960s he had moved into the Joint Intelligence Organisation, the analytical body responsible for evaluating technical and strategic information for Australia’s defence establishment, where he eventually became head of its Nuclear Branch.

From that position he attempted to revive the idea of a more systematic investigation. Working with a small circle of scientists, including researchers from the Australian National University, the Atomic Energy Commission, and the National Standards Laboratory, he proposed a rapid-response investigation team that could travel quickly to significant UFO sightings and collect physical evidence before it disappeared. The proposal came close to approval but ultimately failed, largely because of resistance within the Air Force and the growing tendency of Australian defence policy to defer to American assessments of the issue.

The report Turner produced in 1971 grew out of this effort. Written as part of an internal discussion about how Australia should handle UFO reports, the memorandum set out his assessment of the phenomenon, criticised the public handling of the subject by the United States Air Force, and argued that Australia lacked the scientific and intelligence framework needed to analyse the problem properly.

Intrigued, Harzan says he followed Rich and asked what propulsion system such travel would require. Rich, he recalls, responded with a question of his own: “How does ESP work?”

Harzan describes being momentarily caught off guard before replying, “All points in space and time are connected.”

“That’s how it works,” Rich allegedly answered, before ending the conversation.

Whether apocryphal or not, the story has circulated widely because of the idea it implies: that advanced propulsion, if it exists, would rely less on conventional engineering and more on a deeper principle of nonlocal connection.

Mr Harzan doesn’t appear to recognise the significance of why those were the first words that “popped” into his head. But the first thing that “popped” into mine upon hearing this story, was Ben Rich thought them himself, and through use of telepathic communication, placed them into the mind of Mr Harzan. The implications are that it will be through some form of parapsychic advancement or development of our species in the area of consciousness, that will enable us to traverse the universe.

If true, embedded in this story are two profound truths about our reality. If indeed, all points in space and time are connected, then phenomena like telepathy, remote viewing, and other parapsychic abilities, along with interstellar, faster than light travel, and even time travel, are possible. It also explains how bizarre and presently unexplainable observations like quantum entanglement, out of body experiences and remote viewing can occur in nature.

The idea that reality is fundamentally unified has been central to Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu thought for centuries. In the West, it is often reduced to a slogan, something acknowledged in theory but rarely examined with sustained seriousness. Yet the persistence of the idea across cultures suggests it addresses a recurring intuition about the structure of experience.

We are living through a period marked by visible fragmentation. Political, cultural, and ideological divisions are amplified daily. Appeals to solidarity or compassion can sound naïve in such a climate, yet the alternative has its own costs. Traditions across time have warned that societies organised around rigid divisions become unstable. The question is not sentimental but structural: what model of reality underwrites our behaviour toward one another?

The sense of separateness that drives conflict operates at the level of perception and thought. We draw boundaries between self and other, group and outsider, and then treat those boundaries as absolute. In an environment saturated with media, attention gravitates toward difference and threat. Over time, this shapes discourse and institutional life.

None of this requires metaphysics to observe. It begins with how perception is framed. At the same time, developments across several domains suggest that the separations we assume may not be as fundamental as they appear. Parapsychological research, quantum theory, and certain philosophical traditions all question a strictly atomised view of reality. A model in which mind and matter are deeply intertwined is no longer confined to religious language.

The argument that follows unfolds in stages. First, I outline medical and scientific observations that challenge a purely reductionist account of mind and matter. I then turn to Western thinkers such as David Bohm and Itzhak Bentov, whose models of implicate order and holographic structure offer conceptual alternatives to fragmentation. These frameworks resonate with the Buddhist metaphor of Indra’s Net, in which each part reflects the whole.

From there, I examine Jung’s concepts of synchronicity, the collective unconscious, and the unus mundus as attempts to describe a shared underlying substrate linking psyche and world. Rupert Sheldrake’s proposals regarding morphic fields and panpsychism extend this conversation into more speculative territory, yet remain oriented around the same question of interdependence.

Finally, I return to Buddhist philosophy, particularly the teaching of interbeing articulated by Thich Nhat Hanh, before briefly surveying parallel insights in other Eastern and Western mystical traditions. Across these diverse sources, the language differs, but the underlying suggestion is similar: the divisions we experience may not exhaust the structure of reality.

Parapsychological Observations

How ESP flips the Classical world view on its head.

Classical scientific materialism, often called reductionist physicalism, has shaped Western thought since Newton. Within this framework, reality is understood as matter and energy unfolding in space and time according to impersonal laws. Complex systems are analysed by breaking them into constituent parts, with the assumption that the whole can be fully explained by those parts. On this view, everything that exists is ultimately physical, and consciousness is a byproduct of underlying biological processes. The universe, in principle, exists independently of any observer.

Two broad categories of observation sit uneasily within this model. The first concerns indications of deep interconnection across apparently separate systems. The second involves claims that consciousness can exert influence on physical processes. Both challenge the assumption that causation is strictly local and that mind is reducible to matter.

Reports of parapsychological phenomena and related research into nonlocal effects suggest, at minimum, that our current explanatory frameworks may be incomplete. If even a fraction of these findings withstand scrutiny, they imply that consciousness is not merely an emergent epiphenomenon but may play a more foundational role in nature, with the capacity to correlate with or affect events beyond conventional spatial limits.

One of the more widely reported of conscious experiences occurring independently of brain function, and apparent out of body consciousness that occur during Near-Death Experience or “NDE.” These are extensively documented in Dr Raymond Moody’s book, Life After Life, or the works of academics Janice Miner Holden, Bruce Greyson, & Debbie James; Handbook of Near-Death Experiences: Thirty Years of Investigation and Dr Bruce Greyson’s After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal about Life and Beyond.

The thousands of accounts documented by medical professionals correspond closely to the ‘out of body’ experiences taught at the Munroe Institute, and profound demonstrations of Remote Viewing from Joe McMonagle, Pat Price and Ingo Swann, studied at the Stanford Research Institute. The mere fact that this is possible, and can be reliably induced through the use of sound and vibration, suggests consciousness can be experienced non locally.

The findings by Dr Dean Radin at the retired Astronaut Edgar Mitchell’s Institute of Noetic Sciences have made small but significant findings relating to the minds effects upon matter, and some evidence of premonition. Compelling evidence has been found that concentrated compassionate intention, like through prayer, distance reiki, or Metta, loving kindness meditation, in controlled studies point to effects worth further investigation.

Similar effects have been measured on larger scales where thousands of people sat together to meditate and seemingly reduced crime rates in their respective cities by up to 25%. In a study of ‘The Maharishi Effect,’ Harvard Physicist John Hagelin’s 1993 Washington D.C. experiment remains one of the boldest attempts to treat consciousness as a field with measurable societal effects. The findings indicate that the conscious concentrated intention of individuals and groups can affect the behaviours of others non locally. They offer suggestive time-series correlations between mass meditation and drops in crime and conflict, but the work is heavily criticised for allegiance bias and weak causal identification. As such, Hagelin’s programme functions more as a provocative model of collective mind than as settled empirical fact.

Another example, practised by billions is prayer. We know that repetitions such as the rosary or mantras do, over time, create lasting changes in the brain of the individual practising them through the process of neuroplasticity. What we are yet to prove scientifically is if such recitations can influence nonlocal objects or other persons physically, but if all points in space and time are connected and everything is one, well then something like prayer necessarily must have physical effects, irrespective of distance and time.

The placebo effect is a daily and universal example of the capacity of the mind, or at least ‘belief’ to effect physiology. Placebo/nocebo effects show that beliefs, expectations, social cues, and narratives can alter symptom processing and physiology. This undermines a simplistic materialist model of the brain, and implies that mind, or belief can effect a persons physical health.

Harvard Neuroscientist, Dianne Powell’s work with non-verbal autistic children, investigating their apparent capacity to read their mother’s minds with stunning accuracy, (now, even under laboratory, double blind conditions) is another wonderful modern example of parapsychological abilities that cannot be explained by prosaic means or a classical materialist world-view. Powell’s reported findings are that some non-verbal Autistics produce well above-chance correct answers (numbers, words, shapes/pictures) that a parent/experimenter is thinking about or viewing, which she and the podcast frame as suggestive of mind-to-mind information transfer, or the human potential to perceive the content of ‘other’ minds.

Dr Powell, along with Neuroscientist Dr. Julia Mossbridge, and documentary film maker Ky Dickens have concluded from their findings, that not only does this give sound evidence for ESP, but the multitude of reports of many of these children having a non physical location where they all meet, communicate and share knowledge called “The Hill” where they seem to be able to learn different languages, and gather information that would be impossible to access via prosaic means. The space in which these children may be accessing is possibly what Jung referred to as the collective unconscious. A non material substrate where information is non locally, rather than the hardware of a brain. The details of this are covered in the second half of the below interview with Ross Coulthart.

All of the above cases indicate that the human being has a largely underdeveloped additional sense, senses, or an extra sensory perceptual capacity, that could potentially be nurtured and evolved. They additionally provide a case for a model of nature and reality that place consciousness as primary, and matter as emergent, or at the very least, indicate that mind can directly influence and effect matter. Additionally, some hint at the existence of a non physical hidden reality that exists outside space and time in the realm of mind.

As the Hermetics say; “As above, so below, as within, so without.” Or the Taoists: “Allow yourself desires to observe it’s manifestations, or rid yourself of desires to observe it’s secrets, these two are the same, but diverge in name as they issue forth, mystery upon mystery...”

“The incident has changed my life,” Caz Clarke admits to me recently via text conversation.

“The realisation that these things are real turned my world upside down. Everything I believed was a lie is true and vice versa, and for the first time in my life I felt lost.”

She’s reflecting upon the weight of carrying her extraordinary account for so long. It’s clear that she has now arrived at what is, for her, an ominous conclusion, “What I know now are the lengths our governments and military have gone to in order to cover up this phenomenon - to keep them away, not because they are hostile, but because they have the ability to open our minds and give us back what has been suppressed.”

For those that don’t know, on 26th February 2016 - exactly ten years ago - something happened in the cold, dark early morning sky above Pentyrch, a small village in South Wales, U.K.

The evidence suggests this beyond reasonable doubt.

For Clarke, that ‘something’ irreversibly altered her understanding of both our place in the universe and of institutional power.

Let’s put this plainly – the Pentyrch incident is one of the most fascinating and comprehensively documented UFO cases in modern British history.

It contains an abundance of evidence – everything a serious researcher could hope to examine.

This includes multiple eyewitnesses, physical trace evidence, radiation signatures and EMF readings, seismological data, military aircraft tracking records, as well as polygraph testimony. There’s even photographs and video footage purporting to show the aftermath – of what, exactly, we’ll come to thoroughly examine.

One could therefore easily make the case for Pentyrch deserving a place alongside Roswell, Rendlesham Forest, and the Phoenix Lights.

Yet despite being familiar to those who follow the subject closely, it still sits at the margins of mainstream global UAP discourse..

If there’s a reason it hasn’t yet shifted from that periphery, perhaps it’s because the case is narratively intricate, with multiple threads competing for our attention at once – threads that Clarke and several others have spent ten years trying to tie neatly together.

What became clear in our conversation, however, is that this is not merely a reconstruction of a single night but also a considered reflection on how the encounter reshaped Clarke’s life, and on what ten years of institutional silence might imply about the culture of UAP secrecy and the politics of disclosure.

The Days Before: Surveillance Begins

For the residents of semi-rural Pentyrch, nestled in the hills on the outskirts of the Welsh capital and overlooking the River Taff, events surrounding the early hours of 26th February 2016 weren’t the beginning.

Instead, they were arguably the culmination of an already escalating sequence of events.

Clarke states that several military aircraft were conducting aerial reconnaissance of her local area three days before the main ‘incident’, “The surveillance began on February 23rd, 2016,” she informs me. “I didn’t really grasp anything was amiss because RAF St Athan is 14 miles away and we have military aircraft pass through occasionally.”

She continues, “It was only when one of my neighbours complained that the small aircraft had kept him awake all night - the following morning of February 24th - that I started to notice the aircraft’s behaviour.”

As a result, Clarke adds that she barely slept on Wednesday 24th, “When someone points a sound out to you, you sit and listen anticipating when it will come back. Every 15 minutes the aircraft flew over my house, very slow and very loud and even when it was in the distance, the sound of the prop plane never went out of earshot.”

She was not alone in being unsettled by the aircraft noise during that period. Her neighbour, David, was among those who objected, reportedly submitting a formal complaint to the Ministry of Defence as his frustration grew. No reply was received, and Wales Online did not acknowledge his subsequent email requesting clarification.

Over three days, military aerial manoeuvres continued in their wide circling pattern above the small Welsh village, with no official acknowledgment of what was happening.

We should note here that in the years since, a local, veteran UFO investigator Gari Jones has also worked painstakingly to reconstruct a timeline of the specific week. Clarke references him often during our conversation, suggesting he deserves much credit for these efforts. His research certainly highlights several startling discoveries…

Although these particular details alone barely scratch the surface of the findings, Jones has previously stated weather balloon data collected from the period in question reveals a sharp atmospheric inversion on the night of 25th February leading into the 26th. This refers to a process where warm air traps colder air below it. Some researchers have previously correlated these atmospheric conditions with UAP appearances. Perhaps more intriguingly, Jones has also accurately noted in the past that NASA’s satellite imagery for the entire week in question is no longer available within their public online archives.

Clarke stated during earlier interviews that irrespective of the atmospheric data etc - which she wasn’t aware of until later - she’s convinced the military were tracking something and knew it was coming. Indeed she confirmed this to me, “It was obvious by the third day they were watching for something, but I didn’t know what.”

Given this commotion, it’s clear by the evening of 25th February, Clarke and her neighbours had become incredibly curious about what was going on above the skies of their local area. Given he had not heard back from his enquiries, David was initially convinced Russia was behind the need for heightened military presence around South Wales. Russian military aircraft had been intercepted near UK airspace multiple times that month, which perhaps was impacting upon some local tensions.

Whatever was happening or about to happen, the small gathering of neighbours chose to remain outside together, lighting a fire pit and settling in for a long night.

From the edge of their properties, overlooking the fields and the Welsh hills beyond, they kept their attention fixed on the darkness.

By around 2am on the 26th, any sense of anticlimax disappeared.

Events were about to escalate.

26th February 2016: A Pyramid Over Pentyrch

What Clarke and her neighbours say unfolded in the hour that followed remains difficult to reconcile with conventional explanation.

A decade on, the experience has not faded for her but intensified, sharpening her conviction about what she witnessed and strengthening her resolve to understand it.Ten years on, I do not see the moment differently,” she reflects.

The sequence of events, as she recounts them, began like this:

In the early hours of 26th February 2016, a large E-3 Sentry - an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, recognisable by its distinctive ‘rotodome’ sitting atop of its central structure - began circling at low altitude above their heads. This type of craft is typically deployed by NATO, the U.S. Air Force, and the Royal Air Force (RAF) as an airborne command centre.

After its seventh sweep of the area, Clarke has previously described a bright red light appearing high above the fields before appearing to quickly multiply to three. Remarkably, earlier testimony records how this was revealed to be the very pinnacle of an enormous pyramid shaped craft arriving point first on an oblique angle. She’s adamant during our own conversation that, “This craft did not come down from outer space, this craft came through the space.”

The object was said to begin turning slowly anti-clockwise, its nearside edge defined by six further lights brighter than the rest.

High above the stadium, two brilliant, silvery objects moved slowly across the city. Witnesses variously described them as discs, elongated ovals, or egg-shaped forms, metallic in appearance and sharply defined against the blue. They emitted no sound. They showed no wings, no exhaust, no contrails, and no visible means of propulsion. The referee’s official match report recorded, without embellishment, that the game had been suspended because the crowd had seen “something in the sky.”

The objects did not flash past. They remained visible for several minutes, drifting deliberately across Florence before accelerating and vanishing from sight. It was only then that the second phase of the event began.

From the same cloudless sky, white filamentous strands started descending over the stadium and surrounding districts. The material fell in light clusters, catching on the terraces, tangling in electric wires, settling on the pitch itself. Witnesses compared it to cotton wool or spiderweb, but thicker, more cohesive, almost elastic. When people tried to gather it, the strands collapsed into nothing, dissolving between the fingers. Despite this instability, a young engineering student, Alfredo Iacopozzi, managed to secure samples and deliver them to the University of Florence’s Institute of Analytical Chemistry.

Professor Giovanni Canneri’s examination produced results that did not resemble ordinary silk. The fibers showed a structured composition containing boron and silicon, along with calcium and magnesium. When burned, they left a white mineral residue. Canneri described the substance as “bambagia silice”: a siliceous cotton. Subsequent examinations in Perugia and later in Gela reportedly identified comparable glass-like fibers.

The main take away? No organic content was detected in the material analyzed at the time.

Florence was not an isolated spectacle. In the days that followed, similar daylight objects were reported over other Italian cities. In multiple locations, structured aerial forms were followed by the same descent of filamentous material. By the final week of October, reports were arriving in rapid succession from Tuscany, Lombardy, Lazio, Umbria, and Sicily. Newspapers shifted from treating sightings as curiosities to dedicating daily columns to what was unfolding overhead.

The craft above Fiorentina’s stadium would not be the only tourists coming to town.

Within a matter of weeks, Italy would experience one of the most concentrated and widely witnessed UFO waves of the twentieth century. Not just in the sky either, with a strange physical residue accompanying many sightings, and even stories of physical beings coming along for the ride too.

In the Skies Over Italy

Well before the events in Florence drew national attention, unusual objects had already been observed by individuals accustomed to studying the sky with professional care.

On the evening of 17 September 1954 at Milan’s Linate Airport, the aeronautical journalist and aviator Maner Lualdi was standing with engineer Luigi Nardi and several colleagues when they noticed a luminous body to the south, positioned at roughly thirty degrees above the horizon. The conditions were clear and stable. The object rose gradually to approximately sixty degrees, appearing to approach as it climbed. What at first seemed spherical began to resolve into a more articulated form as it drew nearer: a dark red disc connected to a central conical structure, with a second, smaller disc at the opposite end.

The object remained visible for an extended period. It appeared to hold position before altering course, tracing a zigzag path and accelerating toward the northwest until it contracted again to a distant sphere and disappeared. The sighting lasted close to twenty minutes. Three days later, Nardi reported observing a similar object again over Linate for nearly eighteen minutes. Both men were experienced in aviation and familiar with aircraft configurations and atmospheric phenomena, and they described what they saw with measured precision rather than excitement.

By 21 October, similar reports were emerging from Rome. Observers across the capital described a structured object moving slowly across the afternoon sky. Through binoculars it appeared to some as an inverted helmet or a turtle-like form with protrusions along its upper surface. Others compared it to two luminous masses connected by a narrower central segment. The object maintained a steady course and remained visible long enough for people to gather in the streets to watch. Among those who later acknowledged witnessing something unusual that day was Clare Boothe Luce, then serving as the American ambassador.

Further sightings in Rome on 28 October were accompanied by the same filamentous material already reported in Florence. The recurrence of both aerial forms and descending fibers within a matter of days strengthened the sense that these events were not isolated anomalies. Accounts were now arriving from multiple regions in close succession, often describing defined geometry, controlled motion, and sustained visibility rather than fleeting lights.

What began in September as careful observations by trained professionals had, by late October, expanded into a pattern that was difficult to dismiss as coincidence. The reports were geographically dispersed yet thematically consistent. Structured objects were being seen over major cities, sometimes followed by physical traces.

From Lights in the Sky to Encounters

As October progressed, reports began to describe more than distant objects moving at altitude. In several instances, witnesses claimed that whatever had been seen overhead had come closer to the ground, although these reports were not independently corroborated at the time.

On the night of 18 October, in Parravicino d’Erba near Como, Renzo Pugina was returning home when he noticed movement in the garden in front of his house. He later described a figure between approximately 1.3 and 1.5 meters tall. Its head appeared enclosed within a transparent helmet. The body was covered, he said, in what looked like metallic scales that reflected light unevenly across the surface. Where legs would normally be visible, he reported a tubular structure ending in a circular form that remained oriented perpendicular to the ground. In its hand, the figure seemed to carry an object resembling a flashlight.

Pugina stated that he felt suddenly unable to move. He described a sensation of temporary paralysis that subsided only when he gripped the keys in his hand. The figure turned toward him and made a gesture that he interpreted as deliberate and directed. A faint buzzing sound followed as it moved away and disappeared beyond a bend in the path. The next morning, Pugina reported finding a discolored mark on the garden walkway at the location where the figure had stood.

Two weeks later, at dawn on 1 November near the hamlet of Cennina in Tuscany, Rosa Lotti reported seeing small figures near what she described as a craft resting in a field. Over the years that followed, she repeated her account without significant variation. She described diminutive beings moving around a landed object before departing. Later inquiries identified individuals who, as children, had been nearby that morning and who recalled seeing Lotti at a distance engaged in what they remembered as an unusual episode in the field. The event remained part of local recollection long after the wave itself had passed from national headlines.

Other reports surfaced during the same period. Shepherd children in the Marche region described small figures running through vegetation before entering what they called a “flying barrel.” In Bergamo province, a witness claimed to see forms visible through the windows of a low-flying, cigar-shaped craft passing overhead. The details varied from case to case, but the timing overlapped with the most active weeks of the wave.

The events in Italy unfolded within a broader European surge that was already underway.
